corruption of data when logged out due to browser timeout

This has happened fairly frequently.. the browser (or so I have been told by CATS) is timing out and so I have to log back into CATS - however if I am in the middle of editing a record, the data is corrupted in the save. I have a current open support ticket but it just happened to me again.
Can someone please advise on a fix or work around (obviously saving everything immediately would work but being human and multi-tasking.. that doesn't happen.

I've located the source of this problem, have created a bug ticket and I'll get a fix in place in the next day or two.
